Fructose content of foods

How do I interpret the table correctly?

The first two columns show pictograms indicating the compatibility during the diet in the first weeks after diagnosis (elimination diet, ED) and during the permanent diet (and test period, PD). The other columns show the fructose, glucose, and sucrose levels in g/100g. Total fructose and glucose are each calculated from the total of the free form plus half of the sucrose. GLU/FRU indicates the ratio of glucose to fructose. Foods with GLU/FRU=1 or greater than 1 should be compatible. However, since it depends on many other factors, not only on this ratio, the suggested use (pictograms) may vary! If nothing is specified, this doesn’t mean that the substance is not present, it means that we have not received any values! The values in this table are calculated from averages we found in scientific papers over the years. Because natural fluctuations can happen with most products, these values can only be seen as a rule of thumb.

ED = elimination diet, first weeks after diagnosis  |  PD = permanent diet and test period  |  FRU = total fructose  |  GLU = total glucose („dextrose“)  |  SUC = sucrose, „sugar“

smiley_laugh well tolerated | smiley_sad not tolerated | smiley_middle sometimes tolerated – individual testing during the test phase recommended

The smileys may help you, but they are only an indicator! Find out what YOU can tolerate und don't let others influence you!

I don't drink beer, but I can drink some white wines, no red ones though...

I don't know exact amounts, but I know that the more refined a beer is, the less fructose is in it. You should avoid fruit flavored beers or any beer mixes. Wheat beers (in Germany called Hefeweizen or Weissbier) are bad, too.
I tolerate one or two normal lagers like Bud, Bud light, Coors and so on very good.

Does anyone know how much fructose and sorbitol lager beer has?
